SPRING TRACK AND FIELD ACTIVE WARM-UP ROUTINE

 

1.     Athletes run once around the track (two times later in the season) and then report to the center of field for warm-up lines.

 

All warm-ups cover a 10 - 20 minute time frame.

 

2.     Neck rolls – 3X to right -  3X to left

 

3.     Side bends with right arm over head and left hand on hip -  10X

 

4.     Side bends with left arm over head and left hand on hip -  10X

 

5.     Jumping Jack - 10X

 

6.     Hurdle stretches on ground with right leg extended and left leg curled behind stretch to touch toe - 10X

 

7.     Hurdle stretches on ground with left leg extended and right leg curled behind stretch to touch toe - 10X

 

8.     Cross right leg over left leg and bend to touch toes – 10X

 

9.     Cross left leg over right leg and bend to touch toes – 10X

 

10.                        Cross right leg over left leg and raise arms up in the air stretch up going from heal to toe – 10X

 

11.                        Cross left leg over right leg and raise arms up in the air stretch up going from heal to toe – 10X
